Dr. Dog’s FAST, EASY, FUN Behavior Solutions Review

I tried Dr. Dog’s FAST, EASY, FUN Behavior Solutions online after looking for an alternative to watching that guy on NatGeo, the Dog Whisperer, as I think he’s called. I hardly watch cable anymore, but I am always at my computer or reading my Kindle. Anyway, more to the point, Dr. Dog is a real Ph.D and he has been around a very long time training animals using researched physiology, and he does not seem to rely on gimmicks; this impressed me from the get go, especially after I Googled Dr. Dog and read up on his extensive background.

Dr. Dog was good for both Duke and I. Duke’s a 60kg German Shepard who came from an abused owner of a storage yard. Duke had never known anything gentle in his life until he met me, and I am a pretty rough around the edges no nonsense kinda guy.  We were both wary of each other and I knew I needed to do something fast, or things were going to get unpleasant rather quickly. So I tried the ebooks from Dr. Dogs website, and began working through the solutions offered in both the PDF files and in the audio podcasts.

What I really liked about Dr. Dog’s solutions was that they seemed to be instant leanings on Duke’s part.  Dr. Dog tells the story of wild dogs and how fast they learned that things like bears were dangerous.  He says that if that had taken 4 days to learn, wild dogs would not have lasted very long.  The training in Dr. Dog’s solutions are for the most part, instant, but you have to understand the way dogs think first.  That’s where Dr. Dog’s solutions excel; I had no idea. I assumed dogs thought like I did.  They don’t.  They are genetically programmed with a pack mentality, and as soon as I convinced Duke that I was the leader of the pack, things changed rather quickly.

For example, Duke was always a hungry dog. He probably was not fed much by his previous owner. So he would just grab raw steaks off plates before I had a chance to throw them on the barbie.  We quickly changed that by never feeding him until my wife and I were completely done with our meals (and never fed him from our dinner table). We did not have to beat him, yell at him, or scold him, as once he knew his place in our family pack.  We have Dr. Dog to thank for that.

Dr. Dog essentially teaches you all about pack theory, which in so many words is how dogs have always thought, and do so today, because it’s in their genetic makeup to.  Dogs don’t read self-help read books or see psychotherapists for behaviour modification; they act on instincts that are thousands of years in the making. Once everyone in the family understood how primal Dr. Dog’s teachings are, getting Duke to fall in line was not a problem.

The $29.97 package of eBooks and Audio files was well worth every penny. In fact, I have not even gone through it all yet, and don’t think that you will ever consider the 60-day money back guarantee.

Duke is doing just fine now, and is a well behaved if not a rather large and overwhelming-looking dog. I am very happy about recommending Dr. Dog’s FAST, EASY, FUN Behavior Solutions, and my only criticism is that the downloaded files do not come in Kindle format; I had to convert the PDFs to use there.
